Do I Have To Use The Repair Shop My Insurance Suggests?

No. This is referred to as a Direct Repair shop. You also don’t have to get multiple quotes for repairs. You just tell your insurance company where YOU want your car fixed!

The insurance companies make agreements with shops mostly to benefit themselves. For example, many times in these agreements the insurance has control over these repairs by streamlining their paperwork process as well as they may use aftermarket parts vs OEM parts to save money and can lead to lower quality work.

The shops that participate in these agreements like it because it is essentially guaranteed income.

The incentives for both parties is to potentially save money and keep more profit for themselves.

They may not be the best option for the highest quality outcome and lifetime warranty on the work performed.

I Keep Hearing the Terms "Claimant" and "Insured" From The Insurance Rep. What Do These Mean?

Claimant refers to when you are claiming the accident on someone else’s insurance, while Insured means you are using your own insurance.

Can You Give Me An Estimate Over The Phone From Photos?

Sorry, but we are unable to provide estimates over the phone or from photos. With the wide variety of vehicle types, it’s challenging to give an accurate estimate. Additionally, determining the extent of damage from a photo is very difficult. We can only provide an accurate quote when we inspect the vehicle in person.

Can I Get A Ride Home When I Drop Off My Car?

Yes, we are happy to assist you with this service. We aim to ensure that every customer’s visit is positive and will make dedicated efforts towards achieving that goal. Our pickup and delivery services are available to accommodate your needs.

How Can I Get A Rental Car?

If you need a rental car, we can assist you with making the necessary arrangements. Your insurance company will only cover the cost of a rental car if it is included in your policy or if you are the one making the claim. To find out if you have rental coverage and what limitations apply, please refer to your policy or contact your insurance provider.

Can I Return A Rental Car To Your Body Shop?

Yes, as long as you communicate that with your car rental company and they agree to those terms.

Why Are You Asking Me To Authorize Payment For Any Cost Overage?

At Auto Body Central, we are dedicated to restoring your vehicle to its pre-loss condition. This means we only use parts built by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and adhere to their repair procedures. While this may differ from the methods of some insurance companies that opt for aftermarket parts from wholesale vendors at a lower cost, we believe in the importance of our repair techniques for ensuring the cosmetic quality, mechanical operation, and safety features of your vehicle. There may be instances when the insurance company is unwilling to cover the cost of OEM parts and repairs, in which case you would be responsible for any additional expenses.

Is My Vehicle a Total Loss If My Frame Is Damaged?

No, a damaged car’s frame is not automatically considered a total loss. The determining factor is whether the cost of repairs exceeds the insurance company’s assessed value of the vehicle. Nowadays, most cars are built with a unibody construction, meaning the frame and body are one unit. At Auto Body Central, our skilled technicians, equipped with our advanced computer measuring system, can restore your vehicle to its original factory specifications. If a section of the frame is beyond repair, we can simply replace that section. Trust us to bring your car back to its best condition.

What If My Car Is A Total Loss?

If your car’s damage exceeds its value, Auto Body Central can assist you in negotiating a satisfactory settlement with your insurance provider.

Will The Needed Parts Be Ordered Before I Drop Off My Vehicle For Repair?

Absolutely. We take care of ordering your vehicle’s parts when we write the estimate. Generally, we’ll schedule your drop-off a few days after the initial estimate. However, if your vehicle is deemed unsafe to drive, we’ll assist you in arranging a rental vehicle promptly. This not only ensures your safety but also allows us to provide a faster turnaround time for your repairs.

Can You Match My Car's Paint Color?

At Auto Body Central, we excel in matching your car’s paint color. We have invested in the highest quality paint system available and continually upgrade our technology and equipment to ensure precise color matching for every vehicle. Our expertise lies in replicating factory finishes, making it the ultimate step in our restoration process.

How Will I Know When My Car Is Done?

You will receive a notification when your vehicle at Auto Body Central is ready for pickup. If you have any questions or concerns during the repair process, feel free to contact your advisor via phone or email.

Is There A Warranty on The Repairs To My Vehicle?

Yes, all repairs made by Auto Body Central are backed by a Lifetime Warranty.

What Is A Direct Repair Shop?

Which Insurance Options Help Protect My Vehicle In The Event of an Accident?

At Auto Body Central, we understand the importance of keeping your vehicle safe and looking its best after an accident. That’s why we recommend a few insurance options that may not be included in your current coverage:

  • Original Equipment Replacement Parts Rider.
  • Original Equipment Glass Replacement Rider.
  • Rental car coverage for a replacement vehicle while your car is being repaired.

Trust us to help protect your vehicle in the unfortunate event of a collision.

Where Do I Get A Claim Number?

Claim numbers are provided by your insurance company when you report your accident. Simply write it down and bring it with you when you come to start the repair process. Auto Body Central will take care of everything else.

Do I Have To Pay A Deductible?

The amount of deductible you’re responsible for depends on your insurance policy. If you have broad collision coverage and you’re not at fault, your insurance company will likely waive your deductible. They determine fault based on your account of the accident when you make the claim and the accident report from the police department. If you’re unsure about your deductible, you can call your agent to find out if the deductible has been waived or if you’ll need to pay when you pick up your vehicle.

To Whom Do I Pay A Deductible?

If your deductible is not waived, you will need to pay Auto Body Central when you collect your vehicle. To find out if your deductible has been waived or if you are unsure about it, you can contact your agent who will inform you about your insurance company’s decision regarding your deductible.

What Are Betterment Charges?

Parts that wear out over time and use, such as tires, batteries, and suspension parts, can be subject to betterment charges when they are replaced during the repair process. Your insurance company determines these charges, which are prorated based on the actual miles on your vehicle.

How Do I Care For My Car After Repairs Are Completed?

RECOMMENDATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS:

DO
Wash your vehicle by hand with cool water and a very mild car wash solution using a soft cloth or sponge.
• Always use clean fresh water.
• Wash your vehicle in the shade.
• Avoid parking under trees and utility lines which are likely to attract birds. Bird droppings have a high acid content and will damage a freshly painted surface. Also, tree sap can mar or spot a freshly painted surface.

DON’T
Don’t use a commercial car wash. Stiff brushes or sponges could mar the finish and damage the surface.
• Don’t “dry wipe” your vehicle. Dry wiping can scratch the finish.
• Don’t drive on gravel roads. Chipping the finish can easily occur in the first 30 days.
• Don’t spill gasoline, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, or windshield solvent on the new finish.
• Don’t scrape ice or snow from the newly painted surface.

RECOMMENDATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE FIRST 90 DAYS

DON’T
Don’t wax or polish the vehicle. This will allow the finish to dry and harden completely.
